Thank you

I want to drive an automatic paseo but I can’t find one near me.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:10 |
|
No, people should drive whatever I think they should drive.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:10 |
|
The only caveat I would add to this is “as long as it’s safe for public roads” so no rusted out k cars or stanced to hell and back gtis
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:10 |

Now you’ve gone too far
You didn’t say convertible
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:11 |

Well I wanted to say, subject to various laws etc. but then it would be long-winded instead of Ice Cold™
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:12 |

This could be a fun game. What do you think I should drive?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:15 |

this
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:20 |

Fair enough haha
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:20 |

Arg, a fate worse than death.
[Reaches for hand lotion]
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:21 |

I would drive that in a heartbeat.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:22 |

What are you, some kind of sick freedom lover?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:22 |
|
Agreed
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:22 |
|
My judgment is harsh, but fair.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:23 |

Under my rule, only current drivers of Priuses, Camrys, and crossovers will be offended.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:28 |

I just don’t know if I would fit. I am able to drive a 98 Civic hatchback to work, so maybe.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:30 |

Finally. Someone with sense.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to cars.com
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:30 |
|
Alright... I’ll bite. Go on.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:31 |
|
They’re pretty cozy... But I’m 5'11" and fit just fine in mine
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:32 |
|
Something more like this for you then? I’m tailoring cars to individual tastes, but if you want to camp out in the left lane in a beige Camry, at 5 under the limit, you’ll get a bus pass:
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:32 |

The color saves the car. If you’re going to do something crazy, go all the way
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:33 |

What about me?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:35 |

Here’s the video for that GIF...can’t seem to find it from Vossen, though.
I miss making gifs, and at the same time I’m too lazy to make them :(
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:36 |

too easy
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:38 |

You know that I’m giving Oppos what they want right?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:43 |

Pontiac sun fire?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:49 |
|
Can’t do yellow... sorry.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:50 |
|
Those cars have gone so far off the meter they’ve spun back around to being ironically kind of awesome for me.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:50 |
|
How about red? It’s a GXP of course.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:53 |
|
My take: if people really like luxury trucks as a replacement for their cars and dailies, what if trucks were forces to pay the gas guzzler tax?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:55 |
|
I don’t really see the point other than to attempt to disincentivize future purchases of large vehicles. They’re already paying for more fuel, which is taxed. They shouldn’t be double-taxed.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:57 |
|
But cars do pay the gas guzzler tax, why should trucks avoid this double taxation?
Specially since as far as I understand trucks are exempted from it because they’re work vehicles.... not brodozers or 85,000 dollar luxury cars
![]() 06/09/2018 at 16:59 |
|
I don’t know anything about Mexico, but I don’t think there’s a federal guzzler tax in the United States for private use vehicles?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:01 |
|
The gas guzzler tax is for private vehicles that score under 22.5mpg and it’s a federally enforced tax under the 1978 energy tax act.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:03 |
|
The tax is exactly made to make consumers buy smaller, more efficient vehicles. Its an excise tax, just as the tax on cigarettes.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:04 |
|
Well none of that really affects me as a used-vehicle buyer...
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:08 |
|
I disagree. Stance is (stupid) fun and rusted K cars are mostly driven by poor people that can’t buy something new, let ‘em drive.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:09 |
|
It actually does, you see... consumers pay more for new trucks which means more people buy used which increases demand which in turn increases the posibility that the one selling a used truck charges more for it
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:10 |
|
I remember when I was in college...
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:37 |

I’m actually a proponent of taxing cars by some conbination of length, height, weight and/or engine displacement.
While people should be able to drive whatever they want, larger and taller cars tend to be more of a visual obstacle on public roads, and also take up more parking space whether it’s on a public street or on a private car park.
Want to take up one-and-a-half car lengths? Sure, but pay for occupying that space.
To extrapolate that logic, larger residential lots cost more than smaller ones.
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:40 |
|
huh?
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:44 |
|
I’m in!
![]() 06/09/2018 at 17:46 |
|
...maybe. FWIW my entire fleet of cars is gray, lol
![]() 06/09/2018 at 18:04 |
|
Well sure you can hold that opinion. My only opinion is that if someone wants to incur those costs, let them!
![]() 06/09/2018 at 18:15 |
|
We have 2 silver, one grey- plus a darker red one at least.
Would prefer more color but the silver and grey were due to availability...
![]() 06/09/2018 at 20:07 |

the converter......
![]() 06/09/2018 at 20:57 |

What do they want though?
Do they want a more expensive to buy/maintain German car because they’ve been convinced by marketers and/or rappers and/or friends that that sort of status symbol is worth it?
Do they want a German made Ford in the name of patriotism?
Do they want a white Camry because they think it’s reliable? Can anyone truly want a white Camry?
Do they want a Prius to convinced the world they’re new-age and care about the world?
Or a sports car to tell the world they’re not too old to have fun?
People want silly stuff based on marketing and brainwashing. And the top of that pile is an LFA with aftermarket wheels.

Here in MI they already do. when you renew tags each year. My truck is much more than my Miata bc of weight
![]() 06/09/2018 at 21:41 |

agree!

It’s June, I thought the convertible goes without saying
![]() 06/10/2018 at 00:51 |
|
This is how I feel about PT Cruiser convertibles: I think normal PT Cruisers are extremely dumb and bad cars, but making it a convertible pushed it just far enough that they put a weird smile on my face.

I think the cost to register should be a function of your fuel economy and curb weight. Heavier vehicles generate more wear and tear on the roads than lighter ones. The registration is supposed to fund road repairs.
